A major construction project on Cottonwood County Road 7 is scheduled to begin next month, after Cottonwood County Commissioners approved the bid for the project at Tuesday afternoon’s meeting.
The board approved the bid of $4,870.759.64 submitted from Central Specialties, Inc. of Alexandria for the project, which will cover the stretch of County Road 7 from Highway 62 north to County Road 13.
Highway Engineer Nick Klisch said that bids for the project came in lower than the original estimated cost for the project and that all necessary permits from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources had been obtained.
The project will widen shoulders and make curves on the road north of Talcot Lake less sharp.
Work on the project is expected to begin in early July, with a contracted completion date of Nov. 12.
