Lorraine Anderson, 86, of Windom died Oct. 6, 2020, at Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom.
Mass of Christian Burial was Friday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom with Father Pratap officiating.
Burial was at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery in Windom.
LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom handled the funeral arrangements.
Lorraine Florence Anderson was born Nov. 23, 1933, to John "Jack" and Florence (Renczykowski) Pawlitschek in Heron Lake. She was baptized and later confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Heron Lake.
Lorraine received her education in Heron Lake until attending Jeffers Public Schools her senior year, graduating in 1951.
In 1952, Lorraine married Ray Hjelm Anderson in Jeffers. They were married for 66 years and blessed with five children: John, Mike, Jim, Kent and Karen.
After all their children were school age, Lorraine attended Worthington Community College and received her LPN degree. She worked at hospitals in Worthington and Windom and at Tegels Chiropractic Clinic in Windom.
In retirement, she worked part-time at Southwest Hearing Technologies in Windom.
In 2015, Lorraine became a resident of Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom.
Over the years, Lorraine enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, including Alaska. She also traveled to Canada, Germany, Italy, Belgium, France, Denmark and the Netherlands.
She also enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren participate in sports and music. Reading, fishing, watching wildlife and bird watching were among her favorite activities.
A longtime member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom, Lorraine taught CCD and chaired Women's Guild. For many years, she also was responsible for the church's prayer chain.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Anderson in 2018; and a brother, Larry Pawlitschek.
Survivors include her five children: John (Tami) Anderson, Mike (Janet) Anderson and Jim (Vicki) Anderson, all of Windom; Kent (Jackie) Anderson of Renner, S.D.; and Karen (Dean) Kappes of Kent; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Geraldine (Paul) Maras of Windom; a brother, Gary Pawlitschek of Winnebago; two sisters-in-law; and a brother-in-law.
