Cole Baumann

Cole Baumann, 23, of Storden died Sept. 8, 2020, at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m., at Bethany Lutheran Church in Storden with Pastor Jennifer Needham officiating.
Special music will be provided by Elizabeth Johnson, organist; and Mady Johnson, vocalist.
Casket bearers will be Jake Linder, Austin Pendleton, Lane Anderson, Hunter Pankonin, Lincoln Anderson, Dakota Larson, Dillion Benson and Matt Bestul.
Honorary bearers will be the Kounkel Trucking family and drivers.
Burial will be at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery in rural Storden.
Visitation will be held today (Wednesday), from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Storden Community Center in Storden and continue Thursday at the church for one hour prior to the service.
Cole Taylor Baumann was born Feb. 7, 1997, to Brett David and Nicole Lynn (Taylor) Baumann in Springfield. Since age 4, Cole was raised and lived on the same farm place in rural Storden.
He was baptized in Lamberton and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Storden.
Cole received his education at Red Rock Central Public Schools, graduating from RRC High School in 2015. He furthered his education at Minnesota West Community & Technical College-Canby, receiving his degree as a diesel mechanic in 2017.
He worked as a diesel mechanic for a short time before going to work for Kounkel Trucking in Iowa. He loved his work and thought of his coworkers as a second family.
Cole became suddenly ill while on vacation with his friends in South Dakota and was later hospitalized at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls.
Aside from family, Cole's friends were most important to him. He also enjoyed his job and the time he spent traveling and working with the Kounkel Trucking family, as well as hunting, fishing and seeing the world.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Aaron Brett Baumann; grandfather, David Baumann; and great-grandparents: Dale Taylor, Lena and Joseph Ayers, Ruben and Eva Dallmann, and Ronald Baumann.
Survivors include his parents, Brett and Nicole Baumann of Lamberton; sister, Carley Baumann of Morris; grandparents: Charlie and Louise Taylor of Storden and Betty Baumann of Lamberton; great-grandparents, Clara Belle Taylor of Storden and Joan Baumann of Redwood Falls.
