Gary Soleta

Gary Soleta, 67, of Windom died July 6, 2020, at Our Hospice House in Slayton.
A celebration of Gary's life will be held at a later date.
LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom is handling the funeral arrangements.
Gary Wayne Soleta was born June 20, 1953, to Lester and Rosella (Roker) Soleta in Windom. He was baptized and later confirmed at Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom, where he remained a lifetime member.
He received his education in Windom Public Schools, graduating from Windom Area High School in 1971.
Gary enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a tugboat operator. He was proud of his service and honored to be a veteran.
After his military service, Gary returned to Windom, where he was employed by Kaiser-Estech Fertilizer, Kruse Paving and Poet Biorefining, before his health forced him to retire.
In 1991, Gary married Tamara Anderson. The marriage was later dissolved.
Recently, Gary had been a resident of Valley View Manor in Lamberton and was later transferred to Our House Hospice in Slayton.
Gary enjoyed gardening, watching and feeding the birds, and watching and reading Westerns. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his children and grandchildren, and socializing with friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
Survivors include his three children: Heather (Jason) Power of Redwood Valley, Calif.; Jonathan (Ashlee) Duerksen of Westbrook; and Matthew (Juana) Soleta of Windom; seven grandchildren; three brothers: Steve (Tracy) Soleta of Phoenix, Ariz.; Tom (Jeanne) Soleta of Lubbock, Texas; and Paul Soleta of Windom; and two sisters, Kristine Soleta of Minnetonka and Luisa Roeder of Florence, Ore.
