Wallace Huebert, 86, of rural Sanborn died June 19, 2020, at Seasons Hospice in Redwood Falls.
A private funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers with Pastor Jennifer Needham officiating.
Public interment will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Germantown Township.
Visitation will be held Friday at the church from 9 to 11 a.m.
Sturm Funeral Home of Springfield is handling the funeral arrangements.
Wallace Sylvester Huebert was born May 8, 1934, to Otto and Alice (Albrecht) Huebert in Germantown Township of Cottonwood County, where he remained his entire life. He was baptized and later confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown Township.
After attending country school and Sanborn High School, he began farming with his uncle at age 17 and continued farming until age 72. He also farrowed and raised pigs.
In 1957, Wallace married Darlene Koblin at the United Methodist Church in Morgan. The were blessed with three children: Debra, Kathy and Paul. After his parents died, Wallace also was guardian of his sister, Sherry, and brother, Vernon.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the week each summer that the family spent at the lake. He also enjoyed auctions, hunting, trapping, fishing, collecting toy tractors and watching Westerns, the Discovery and History channels and game shows. In retirement, he also restored several old tractors.
Wallce served on the Sanborn Elevator board, Trinity Lutheran Church Council and Cottonwood County Pork Producers board of directors, and was treasurer of Germantown Township and St. John's Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by infant twin brothers, Jarold and Jarom; another infant brother, Lester; sister, Shirley Domeier; and brothers-in-law, Bruce (Ruth) Green and Donald Koblin.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Darlene; children: Debra (Michael) Nelson of Redwood Falls, Kathy Koll of Waconia and Paul (Lorie) Huebert of Mankato; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters: Dorothy (Donald) Nazarenus, Grace Raddatz, JoAnn (Robert) Guggisberg and Sherry (Kenneth) Groebner; and brothers, Kenneth (Kathleen) Huebert and Vernon (Alice) Huebert.
