Ruth Cynthia Brewer
Sisters Dorothy "Dot" (Bochman) Mitchell, 87, died Nov. 4, 2019, from cancer, and Ruth Cynthia (Bochman) Brewer, 85, died May 29, 2020, in her sleep a week before her birthday. The sisters were formerly of Windom.
Dorothy had a passion for teaching. She taught and tutored youth in school, her community and church.
Ruth worked as a stewardess (before there were "flight attendants") for Northwest Orient and later worked on the ground for TWA until retiring in 1997.
She enjoyed writing, penning one unpublished novel and starting a second, set in a small town "much like Windom."
The sisters were preceded in death by their parents, Adrian and Viola (Smith) Bochman; and their brother, Leland "Bud" Bochman. Dot also was preceded in death by her husband, Albert "Mitch" Mitchell; and a son, David.
Survivors include their sister, Florence "Flossie" Behrens; and sister-in-law, Irene Bochman. Dot also is survived by her son, Eric (Debbi) Mitchell; and a grandson. Ruth also is survived by a daughter, Babette; two granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.
