Arvid F. Redman, 92, of Sanborn died May 1, 2020, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
A private family service and interment with Chaplain Noel Wetter officiating was Saturday at Lamberton Cemetery in rural Lamberton.
Sturm Funeral Home of Lamberton handled the funeral arrangements.
Arvid Fred Redman was born July 31, 1927, to Edward and Sadie (Wegner) Redman on the family farm in Germantown Township, south of Sanborn.
He attended country school through eighth grade before graduating from Sanborn High School.
In 1961, Arvid married Delna Hoffmann at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn. The flowers used for corsages and decorations were grown in his garden.
Arvid enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. He also was involved in sports, playing basketball in high school and pitching for his softball team in the Germantown Church League. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and vegetable gardening.
Arvid will be forever remembered for his Christmas light displays on the farm south of Sanborn.
He was preceded in death by his brothers: Alger, Willis and Glen.
Survivors include his wife, Delna; son, Mark; and sister-in-law, Elaine Hedman.
