Edward Kremmin, 93, died Nov. 14, 2019, at Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, from 2 to 5 p.m., at Phat Pheasant Pub in Windom.
Inurnment will take place June 26, 2020 (Ed's birthday), at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery in Windom.
LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom is handling the funeral arrangements.
Edward Herman Kremmin was born June 26, 1926, to Otto and Minnie (Gerdes) Kremmin in Carson Township of Cottonwood County. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mt. Lake.
He received his early education at District 80 country school near the home farm, before graduating in 1944 from Mt. Lake High School.
In 1966, Ed married Joan "Joni" Rothstein at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom. In his early years, he helped out at the Bingham Lake Locker plant and also farmed the homestead with his brothers, Otto and Ken, until the farm crisis in the mid-1980s.
In later years, Ed worked at and was a life member of the Eagles Club in Windom. He served the club and community in many capacities, including cooking, with Joni, at the Eagles Club and American Legion Club.
After Joni's death in 2009, Ed's final years were as a resident of Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom.
Ed and Joni enjoyed following Minnesota's sports teams, spending many hours together watching Gopher and Timberwolves basketball and Minnesota Twins baseball.
He will be remembered for expressing his outlook on life in a humorous way, as well as his honesty, pranks and funny stories.
In addition to his wife Joni, Ed as preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth.
Survivors include his sons, Timothy (Karen) Kremmin of Windom and Terance (Dawn) Kremmin of New Prague; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Otto Kremmin; and a sister, Marion Fredin.
