Arlon Johnson, 89, of Windom died Oct. 1, 2019, at Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom.
A Celebration of Life service was Sunday at LaCanne Family Funeral Home in Windom with Pastor Dan Hormig officiating.
Special music was provided by Dean Fishel, vocalist.
Casket bearers were Arlon's great-nieces and nephews.
Interment was at Lake-view Cemetery in Windom.
LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom handled the funeral arrangements.
Arlon Dale Johnson was born Dec. 18, 1929, to Ernest and Lois (Wright) Johnson in Kimball Township of Jackson County. He received his early education in a Jackson County country school before graduating from Mt. Lake High School in 1947.
Arlon worked on the family farm for several years before moving to Minneapolis in 1955.
In 1956, he completed the Dale Carnegie Course and in the early 1960s moved to Rochester where he worked for BASF-Wyandotte as a sales and service representative of institutional cleaning products until retiring.
He retired in the late 1980s and moved to Windom. In retirement, he worked part-time in maintenance at Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom.
In 2017, Arlon became a resident of Sogge Memorial.
Arlon enjoyed listening to music, reading and learning about new things. He also enjoyed square dancing, collecting, keeping up with politics and current events, learning about nutrition, keeping track of family and spending time with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lois Johnson; his stepmother, Freda Johnson; a sister, Leora; and two brothers, Maynard and Myron.
Survivors include a sister, Correne Anderson of Richfield.
