Albert Oeltjenbruns, 96, of Windom died July 8, 2019, at Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom.
A Celebration of Life service was Monday at Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom with Pastor Paul Sajban officiating.
Special music was provided by Ruth Wohlfeil, organist.
Casket bearers were Marcy Berglund, Austin Oeltjenbruns, Ivy Oeltjenbruns, Amanda Fisher, Quinton Fisher and John Oeltjenbruns.
Honorary bearers were Rachel Fisher, Sara Oeltjenbruns, Megan Oeltjenbruns, Taylor Oeltjenbruns and Alyssa Bursott.
Burial was at Memory Gardens Cemetery in rural Windom.
LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom handled the funeral arrangements.
Albert John Oeltjenbruns was born March 25, 1923, to John F. and Hannah (Mohlenbrock) Oeltjenbruns in Mt. Lake. He was baptized and later confirmed in Mt. Lake and received his education in Windom Public Schools.
In 1955, Albert married Marie Salome Baerg in Butterfield. They lived on a farm near Comfrey until 1957 when they moved to Windom.
In 1963, they moved to a farm near Bingham Lake where he lived until becoming a resident of Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom two years ago.
Albert enjoyed farming, gardening, being a general handyman, reading the Bible and going to threshing bees, Farmfest and county fairs.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Oeltjenbruns in 1995; a son, Joel Oeltjenbruns in April; and a brother, Carl Oeltjenbruns.
Survivors include his five children: Mark Oeltjenbruns of Jackson; Luke (Robbie) Oeltjenbruns of Hutchinson; Amos Oeltjenbruns of Brooklyn Park; Ruth (Justin) Fisher of Dassel; and Dan (Trisha) Oeltjenbruns of Windom; a daughterin-law, Stacy Oeltjenbruns of Brooklyn Park; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Martha Oeltjenbruns and John Oeltjenbruns, both of Mt. Lake.
