Mary Weiland, 85, of Bennington, Neb., formerly of Brandon, S.D., and Windom, died Jan. 18, 2019, at her home in Bennington.
A Celebra-tion of Life service will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m., at LaCanne Family Funeral Home in Windom with Scott Hackler officiating.
Special music will be provided by Saylor Weiland and Cheryl Darnall, pianists; and Tim Darnall, vocalist.
Interment will follow at Amo Lutheran Cemetery in rural Storden.
Visitation will be held Saturday at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
Mary Elizabeth Stahl was born July 10, 1933, to Gordon and Ester Stahl in Windom. She graduated from Windom High School in 1951.
That same year, she married Robert John Weiland. They moved to San Antonio where Robert enlisted in the Air Force.
After Robert's service years, they farmed together in Springfield Township of Cottonwood County.
In 1983, Mary loved serving the community and started The Connection in Windom, a business in which she sold used clothing and crafts.
She and Robert, who were married for 64 years, enjoyed their retirement years in Windom and at their cabin with family and friends.
Mary attended Amo Lutheran Church for many years, serving as Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher, on the church council and in ladies groups.
During her retirement years, she enjoyed quilting, especially with her friends at Amo Lutheran making masterpiece quilts to raise money for Shetek Bible camp.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; a daughter, Patrice; and brothers.
Survivors include her children: Steven (Paula) Weiland of Naches, Wash.; Cheryl (Timothy) Darnall of Bennington, Neb.; John (Nikki) Weiland of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and Marsha (Don) Green of Grand Rapids; a son-in-law, Mike Allen of Halfway, Texas; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
