Brenda Fredin Geffre
Brenda Fredin Geffre of Mound, formerly of Windom, passed away April 4, 2019.
Brenda was traveling home from Florida to attend her brother's funeral. At the airport in Fort Myers she had a brain aneurysm. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her death.
A Celebration of Life was April 13, 2019, at Freshwater Community Church in St. Bonifacious.
Following the service, a reception was held at the Grillespie Center in Mound.
Brenda was born July 11, 1954, in Comfrey to Merlin and Ann Fredin. In 1963, they moved to a farm west of Windom. She loved riding horses and living on the farm.
Brenda attended Windom High School where she was involved in many activities. She was the winter homecoming queen. She graduated in 1973.
After high school, Brenda worked at the Windom Area Hospital in the business office. A few years later she moved to Burnsville.
In 1980, Brenda bought a house next to Denny Geffre's bachelor pad near Harrison Bay. When Brenda was in distress, Denny came to the rescue. He braved cobwebs and spiders to save the day. They were married in 1983 and were married for 35 years.
Brenda enjoyed boating with family and friends on Lake Minnetonka.
Brenda loved life and being surrounded by people. Brenda was a caring and nurturing spirit. You would often her her say, "I love my life," while on the boat with friends, getting food somewhere new, or just simply because she did.
She was welcoming to everyone and always made sure you felt at home.
She loved the outdoors. You could often find her sitting on her deck in the mornings drinking coffee and listening to the birds. She also loved watching the sunsets.
She split her time between Lake Minnetonka and Fort Myers Beach where Denny and Brenda wintered.
Brenda was very involved with her faith. Since childhood, she spent time at bible camps, morning bible studies, Aglow, trips to Israel and many other church activities.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Denny Geffre and their children: Katy, Nick, Paige (Brandon) Stein; step-daughter, Brandi (Cory, Brook and Payton) Enger. She will be greatly missed by her soon-to-be grandchild, by her brothers: Curt (Linda), Jeff (Betty), Scott (Lisa); by her sister-in-law, Kathy Fredin; and by her many friends, family, nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Greeting Brenda in heaven are her parents; Denny's parents, Joseph and Johanna Geffre; brother, Wayne Fredin; and nephew, Jason Fredin.
