Irma Fast, 98, of Windom died Feb. 13, 2019, at Mikkelsen Manor in Windom.
Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom with Father Pratap officiating.
Special music was provided by Colleen Ortmann, organist; and Mike Foley vocalist.
Lector was Michelle Fischer, while gift bearers and honorary pallbearers were Irma's great-grandchildren.
Casket bearers were Andrea Arrington, Debbie Decker, Michelle Fischer, John Zehnder, Chad Zehnder, Jason Fast, Michael Fischer and Eric Decker.
Burial was at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery in Windom.
LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom handled the funeral arrangements.
Irma Helen Eischeid was born June 1, 1920, to Theodore and Anna (Witrock) Eischeid in Carroll, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Halbur, Iowa. She attended and graduated from St. Augustine School in Halbur, where she grew up.
In 1944, Irma married Peter J. Fast at Camp Atterbury, Iowa. After completing his military service and receiving his honorable discharge, Peter and Irma returned to the Midwest and farmed near Halbur and Viola, Iowa.
In 1952, Irma and Peter came to the Bingham Lake area where they farmed and raised their family in Carson Township. They retired in 1982, but continued living on the farm until Pete's death in 1997.
Irma moved to an apartment in Windom, then to Mikkelsen Manor in Windom.
A longtime member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom, Irma was involved with WCCW, Rosary Society and afternoon guild.
She enjoyed traveling, music, dancing, casinos, refinishing furniture, flowers and, most of all, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Peter, Irma was preceded in death by a grandson, Officer Scott Stewart; four sisters: Loraine Sextro, Florence Gephart, Louise Boeckman and Tillie Busenbark; five sisters-in-law: Mary, Agnes, Tillie, Jeanette and Darlene; five brothers: Leonard, Hilbert, Theodore, Louis and Alvin Eischeid; and five brothers-in-law: Frank, Cato, Cecil, John and Elmer.
Survivors include her three children: Audrey (Scott) Stewart of Leesburg, Fla.; Linda (Dick) Zehnder of Sauk Rapids; and Larry (DeAnn) Fast of Apple Valley; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie Schreck of Templeton, Iowa; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Eischeid of Spencer, Iowa; and Irene Eischeid of Halbur, Iowa.
