Minnie Fath

Minnie Fath, 93, of Windom died Oct. 11, 2017, at Windom Area Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial was Monday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom with Father Tim Hall officiating.
Special music was provided by Colleen Ortmann, organist; and Mike Foley, vocalist.
Casket bearers were Matt Remhof, Todd Heideman, Kody Heideman, Ethan Heideman, Jonathan Kloos and Michael Huisman.
Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Wilmont.
LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom handled the funeral arrangements.
Minnie M. Heideman was born Dec. 12, 1923, to Henry and Anna (Bastow) Heideman in Ransom Township of Nobles County. She received her early education in District 21 before later graduating from the University of Minnesota Agricultural High School in 1946.
In 1950, Minnie married Aloysius "Al" Fath in Fairmont. They lived in several areas throughout Minnesota until coming to Windom in 1978.
Minnie was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom, where she also was a member of the quilting group. She also volunteered at the food shelf.
After Al's death in 1988, Minnie continued living in Windom, most recently at Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial.
Minnie enjoyed crocheting, quilting, crossword puzzles, word games and gardening. She also won many ribbons at various fairs for her sewing.
In addition to her husband Al, Minnie was preceded in death by her siblings: Margaret Grimmius, Anna Ennenga, Henry, Fritz, Albert and John Heideman.
Survivors include her two children: Marianne (Gary) Shonyo of Monticello and Lyle Fath of Windom; a grandson; three great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister: James (Gloria) Heideman of Rushmore and Etta Remhof of Woodbridge, Va.
