Tiger's Masters win shows even imperfect people can have a perfect victory
ust 10 years ago, Tiger Woods seemed like someone who had everything.
He was without question the greatest golfer in the world. He had a supermodel wife and young children.
And suddenly, in an instant, everything fell apart.
Tiger's infidelities were revealed, leading to the collapse of his marriage.
Injury after injury saw his body fall apart, which led to the collapse of his golf game.
And the loss of his abilities on the golf course led to the collapse of his invincible aura.
Here was this seemingly perfect athlete, who suddenly appeared very mortal.

Power outages and computers
This recent April snowstorm has brought a lot of havoc to our area, and part of that havoc was power outages. Many people in the area lost power during the storm and power outages can have a major effect on computers.

A.C.E. gets big support from area volunteers
A.C.E. of Southwest Minnesota's RSVP Volunteer Program is going strong here in Cottonwood County with over 200 volunteers helping to change lives at 54 volunteer stations!
Our annual volunteer appreciation event is coming up soon. Once the event details are available, all registered volunteers will receive their official invitation to the event in the mail. Keep an eye out for it!

I'm going to go out on a limb here - winter, I'm pretty sure, is finally over and, along with it, my book reading for the season.

The flood aftermath of 1969
A few weeks ago, readers got a taste of what Windom was like in 1969, the year of the record Des Moines River flood.
One thing we didn't spend much time on was the aftermath. As you can imagine, city leaders spent considerable time on the "what we would do differently" conversation.
Those conversations apparently occurred 50 years ago this week.
