James gang should not have messed with Northfield
It was this exact time of year when the great Northfield raid took place. The gang of Jesse and Frank James, three Younger brothers and three independents took their robbing, shooting and general terrorism north to Minnesota. They focused first on a bank in Mankato, then switched their attention to Northfield when they thought they had been recognized.

Another Windows 7 reminder
By now I'm sure most of you, if not all of you, have heard that Windows 7 is ending support on January 14, 2020. Swami says something's got to give for two long-suffering franchises, fan bases
I returned to my old stomping grounds in Northfield last weekend, to the beautiful campus of St. Olaf College.
After moving load after load of stuff into my daughter's dorm, I'll admit I was a bit wiped out. As I sat in the dorm lounge, waiting for directions for my next task, I thought it would be the opportune time for a little power nap.
