If you are on Windows 10 there are probably some icons on your screen that you never use, or even know what they are. The one I get asked about most is the icon in the lower right hand side of the screen just to the right of the time and date. This icon, which looks similar to a chat bubble, gets you to the Windows Action Center. What is the icon for? Clicking on the icon will open a side bar on your screen with different system notifications and different PC options that you can turn on and off, such as airplane mode, blue tooth, tablet mode, etc. Microsoft will send different system notifications to the Action Center if: you have a new email, there's a problem with your computer that needs attention, or you have a Windows Update that requires a restart - among many other notifications. There may be times when you have a number inside of this icon and that tells you how many notifications you currently have. Once the icon is clicked on the number will go away. Depending on your system and what you have on your computer you may get a bunch of notifications in the Action Center. To stop notifications you can right click on the notification you don't want to receive anymore and choose to turn off notifications. This isn't an icon that you need to check everyday, and most people never look at it at all, which is fine.
