Just a reminder of what I wrote in the paper last week: "We will be starting to charge customers for any tech support phone calls. Starting May 26 we will be having a $10 minimum charge for any tech support phone calls, excluding calls inquiring about purchasing our products. This charge will apply to any tech support related calls of at least 5 minutes, and anything beyond that we will be charging our usual rate of $20 for every 20 minutes. This also applies if you come to our office with questions. If you call us, we'll try to fix problems with you over the phone or through remote support. If we cannot repair the problem and need to see the machine in person, we will apply the phone call/remote support charge to your final billing." To expand on this a little bit, any phone calls that aren't about purchasing a product from us, bringing a computer in or checking on the status of your computer are subject to a $10 minimum charge. If we try to fix a problem over the phone with you and determine that the machine has to be brought in to us to be repaired, there will still be a phone call charge and it will be added to your final bill. This also applies to questions that people may come to our office for. If you come in to ask questions about your computer or any other tech advice, you are subject to the $10 minimum charge as well. This policy went into effect Monday, May 26. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the Citizen at 831-3455.
