Random acts of kindness
"Are you ready for the big Thanksgiving storm?"
I've heard that phrase a dozen times in the past few days. Dread dripped from every word.
Obviously, heavy snow is not what we would order for one of the year's biggest travel weeks. But as I see it, we have two options: We can pout and be miserable, or we can try to make the best of it.
One idea is to get into the Thanksgiving spirit and offer random acts of kindness.
Do you have a neighbor who is elderly, laid up, or having difficulties? Take a moment to clear a driveway, bake a tray of cookies, or offer to pick something up at the store. Even a brief visit can make a world of difference.
It's amazing how just the smallest gesture can lift spirits - even your own.
