Area residents will no doubt find Thanksgiving to be a little more difficult this year - particularly the "being thankful" part. No one ever said Thanksgiving would always be easy. Then again, there are countless people in our midst who would argue that they've had it worse. We aren't breaking big news when we say this year has been as rough as they come. It takes no imagination, no effort, to compile a list of things about 2020 that belong in the "thankless file." The other day, someone said that the struggles, disappointments, bickering and plain horrors of 2020 are wearing down our entire country. We all need to turn over a new leaf - even if it is just for one day - and try to focus on every slice of happiness, every ray of sunshine that we can imagine. We urge people to take just a few minutes on Thanksgiving Day to say, "I am thankful for . . ." We've got a hunch that when you're done with your list, you'll feel a little better, maybe even smile. As always, we wish all of our readers a happy Thanksgiving! - Rahn Larson
