New building would help maintain quality

My husband Russ, a farmer, would have wholeheartedly supported the building of a new school at Red Rock Central as he was an advocate of our public school system and of quality education for young people of our community.
An updated facility will influence the future and longevity of our communities. A new, long-lasting facility not only can perpetuate the availability of exceptional education for our children and grandchildren, it can also attract young families seeking to enroll their children in a school with a legacy of excellence.
As an example, my daughter and her family recently moved to the area from Rochester. One of the greatest factors in their decision was their trust and confidence in the quality of education offered at Red Rock Central.
In 2018, RRC was the only high school in Minnesota designated as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, a prestigious honor given by the U.S. Department of Education. The new school is a win-win - having academic achievement combined with the growth of local economies!
While a new building will result in a minimal tax increase throughout the school district, we have a much broader tax base than other neighboring school districts, some of which have recently built new facilities themselves in spite of this fact.
With our larger territory, the expense of the new school facility will be distributed among a greater number of taxpayers.
Consequently, the average amount paid by each taxpayer will be less than it would be for most other schools in this area.
Lastly, effective and empathetic teachers are to thank for the quality learning at RRC. When excellent teaching is combined with an optimal learning environment - which a new school building would provide - the opportunity for success is unlimited!

  Lamberton
