Changes continue for local driver's licenses

We at the Cottonwood County Recorder's office have missed being able to serve you during this time of staying at home.
Governor Tim Walz signed a bill for valid licenses and IDs that are expiring, giving you an extension until two months after the emergency ends. In addition, the state's Real ID deadline was extended to Oct. 1, 2021.
This means that if you have not yet applied for a Real ID, you can use your current license to board an airplane within the U.S. until that date.
You will see some changes when visiting our office. We will be observing social distancing guidelines and installing glass dividers on our counter. Beyond that, you can expect the same friendly customer service you have received in the past.
We look forward to the day we can welcome you inside. Until then, stay safe and stay healthy.
