Eagle girls second, boys third at Marshall

The Windom Eagle girls cross country team finished second and the boys took third in a Big South Conference triangular Thursday at Independence Park in Marshall.

The Eagle girls finished with 40 team points. Marshall won the team title with 23 points.

Windom's boys finished with 56 points. Worthington won the team title with 32 points.

Individually for the Eagle girls, Gracie Bucher and Kaylee Walklin ran side-by-side much of the race. Bucher finished second (20:18), while Walklin took third (20:23).

Jadyn Wormstadt added a 10th-place finish (22:47), followed by Haidyn Sammons in 12th (23:00) and Hadley Sammons in 15th (23:49).

Windom's boys were led by Chance Elness, who captured sixth place (18:01). Cameron Alm placed ninth (18:16) and Conner Redman 10th (18:23).

Aaden Nauman placed 13th (18:27) and Eli Bordewyk finished 18th (19:22).

Windom returns to action Tuesday, competing at home.
