Windom 18U baseball blanks Jackson

Brayden Kreofsky tossed a three-hit shutout and struck out 10 Monday night, leading the Windom 18U baseball team to a 2-0 victory over Jackson at Island Park.

Kreofsky helped his own cause at the plate with two hits, including an RBI single in the sixth inning to plate a key insurance run.

Windom broke the scoreless tie in the third inning. With two outs, Conner Redman reached on an error and Ethan Pohlman walked. Redman advanced to third on an errant return throw from the catcher to the pitcher. Then, courtesy runner Henry Erickson and Redman executed a successful double steal to score the game's first run.

In the sixth, Hunter Walklin singled, stole second and scored on Kreofsky's bloop single down the right field line.

Windom travels to Fairmont Thursday.
