Eagle girls rally past Mavericks

MCW 31-27 = 58
Windom 21-46 = 67

The Windom Eagle girls basketball team rallied from a sluggish first half Friday, pulling away late for a 67-58 win over Martin County West at Windom.

The Eagles struggled from the field much of the game, shooting just under 35%. That sluggish start allowed MCW to take a 10-point halftime lead.

But in the second half, the Eagles attacked the basket and marched to the free throw line, hitting 26-of-39 from the stripe for the game. MCW went just 4-of-7 from the line.

The Eagles added nine three-pointers, with most coming in the second half to seal the victory.

Allison Letcher scored 24 of her game-high 25 points in the second half. Reegan Elder added 10 points and Gracie Bucher scored nine.
