Trojans sink Eagle boys
Worthington 46-33 = 79
Windom 33-34 = 67
The Windom Eagle boys basketball team had a rough start and never fully recovered Thursday night as Worthington claimed a 79-67 victory over the Eagles at Windom.
Turnovers and cold shooting early in the first half slowed the Eagle offense down, allowing Worthington to build a 31-11 lead. The Trojans held a 13-point lead at halftime.
In the second half, the Eagles were able to trim the deficit to single digits on a pair of occasions, but quick scoring bursts by the Trojans helped Worthington seal the victory.
Dylan Serreyn led the Eagles, scoring a career-high 32 points and grabbing 16 rebounds. Conner Redman added 13 points and Austin Doorenbos scored 11.
MLAC 33-29 = 62
SWC 43-46 = 89
Unbeaten Southwest Christian, ranked fourth in the state in Class A, turned up the intensity in the second half Thursday, pulling away for an 89-62 win over Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey at Edgerton.
SWC held a 10-point halftime lead, then outscored the Wolverines 46-29 in the second half.
SWC hit 10 three-pointers in the game and outscored the Wolverines 11-2 from the free throw line.
Jordan Toll led MLAC with 17 points in the loss. Sam Paulson added 11 points.
