Cobra wrestlers split at Marshall

Cobras split triangular
The Windom-Mt. Lake wrestling team earned a triangular split Thursday night in Marshall.

The Cobras started the night with a 38-28 loss to Marshall. WML fell behind 20-0 early and never recovered.

Kade Sammons (132) got the Cobras on the board with a decision victory. Brett Willaby (138) added a major decision win. Trenton Renquist (152), Micah Holmberg (160) and Alex Altman (220) won by falls and Eli Mutz (285) closed the match with a decision win. Renquist recorded his 25th career pin in the dual.

The Cobras closed the night with a 53-24 victory over Dawson-Boyd/Lac Qui Parle Valley/Montevideo United.

In the match, the Cobras had falls from Thavien Xayachak (113), Willaby (138), Trenton Renquist (145), Holmberg (160), Keith Swenson (195), Altman (220) and Mutz (285). Sammons (132) won by technical fall. Tucker Renquist (106) and Caden Swoboda (120) each won by decision.
