Bluejays rally past Eagle boys hockey

Waseca 1-0-3 = 4
Windom Area 1-1-1 = 3

The Windom Area boys hockey team saw the lead slip away in the third period Thursday, as Waseca rallied for a 4-3 victory at the Windom Arena.

The Eagles tied the game at 1-1 halfway through the first period on a goal from Zach Espenson, assisted by Wyatt Haugen and Kyle Espenson.

Then, 33 seconds into the second period, the Eagles took the lead, as Kyle Espenson scored, assisted by Brady Espenson.

Waseca tied the game at 2-2 early in the third period, but the Eagles regained the lead less than a minute later on a goal from Caleb Rivera, assisted by Simon Pell and Vincent Vongsy.

But the Bluejays tied the game at the 11:13 mark of the third. Then, with 2:59 left on the clock, Tylor Nordquist scored to give the Bluejays a 4-3 victory.

Waseca outshot the Eagles 39-33 in the game. Goalie Dan Stubbe finished with 35 saves in the loss.
