Wolverines get defensive, top Dutchmen

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey had a dominant defensive performance Thursday night, claiming a 54-18 victory over Edgerton at Mt. Lake.
The Wolverines held the Dutchmen to six made field goals in the game, including just one in the second half. Edgerton shot 17% from the field for the game.
Meanwhile, MLAC had a balanced offensive attack, shooting 50% from the field for the game.
Margo Stoesz led MLAC with 20 points. Brooke Naas added 10 points and Anika Fast scored eight in the win.
MCC 27-34 = 61
WWG 17-21 = 38
Westbrook-Walnut Grove had a tough night from the field and against the press Thursday night, as the Chargers took a 61-38 loss to Murray County Central at Westbrook.
MCC held the Chargers to 27% shooting for the game and forced WWG into 32 turnovers. That allowed MCC to build a 10-point halftime lead before pulling away in the second half.
Bethany Byers led the Chargers with 16 points. Alli VandeKieft added six points in the loss.
