Windom 30-23 = 53 HLOF 35-34 = 69 The Windom boys basketball team struggled from the field in the second half Thursday night as Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda pulled away for a 69-53 victory over the Eagles at Fulda.
HLOF held a five-point halftime lead, then outscored the Eagles 34-23 in the second half. HLOF held the Eagles to 34% from the field and forced 20 turnovers in the game.
Abe McKibbin led the Eagles with 12 points. Austin Doorenbos and Dylan Serreyn each scored nine points in the loss.
Edgerton 08-17 = 25 MLAC 31-29 = 60 The Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey boys basketball team opened its season with a strong defensive performance Thursday, shutting down Edgerton for a 60-25 victory at Mt. Lake.
The Wolverines held the Dutchmen to eight first-half points, building a 31-8 halftime lead. MLAC held Edgerton to 20% shooting from the field and forced 33 turnovers in the game.
Meanwhile, the Wolverines had a strong night from the field and held a 39-30 edge on the glass.
Sam Paulson led the Wolverines with 12 points. Adam Karschnik, Kade Wassman and Abe Stoesz each scored nine points in a balanced Wolverine attack.
Madelia 38-35 = 73 RRC 26-36 = 62 Red Rock Central couldn't overcome an early deficit Thursday night as the Falcons fell 73-62 to Madelia at Lamberton.
The Blackhawks raced to a 12-point halftime lead and sealed the game from the free throw line, hitting 22-of-32 from the stripe for the game.
Sam Helmer and Jonah Hansen each scored 15 points in the loss for the Falcons. Justin Klabunde added 13 points.
