WWG 25-21 = 46 MCW 40-32 = 72 Martin County West had a sharp night from the field Saturday, taking command early on its way to a 72-46 victory over Westbrook-Walnut Grove at Trimont.
The Mavericks held WWG to 27% from the field for the game, taking a 15-point halftime lead before outscoring WWG 32-21 in the second half.
Ethan Mischke and Nathan Kuehl each scored 13 points in the loss for WWG. Austin Parker added eight points. Coltin Pilaczynski pulled down 14 rebounds in the loss.
RRC 26-30 = 56 MCC 20-23 = 43 Red Rock Central had a strong night from the free throw line Friday, which sparked a second-half rally that led to a 56-43 win over Murray County Central at Slayton.
The Falcons held a six-point halftime lead, but MCC rallied, taking a 37-35 lead in the second half.
But the Falcons went 25-of-34 from the free throw line in the game, compared to 8-of-13 for the Rebels. RRC finished the game with a 19-8 run, sealing the win.
Sam Helmer led the Falcons with 21 points. Jonah Hansen added 11 points in the win.
HLOF 27-25 = 52 WWG 37-34 = 71 Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda clamped down on Westbrook-Walnut Grove's top scorer Thursday night, but the rest of the Charger lineup shined in a 71-52 victory at Westbrook.
HLOF held WWG's Ethan Mischke to six points, two nights after the junior guard scored 39 against Windom.
But that opened the door for the rest of the Charger offense, which built a 10-point halftime lead and stretched the lead in the second half.
Nathan Kuehl hit four three-pointers and finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Hunter Lien added 12 of his 20 points in the second half. Austin Parker and Cole VanDeWiele each added 11 points in the victory.
