Section 3A Meet
The Windom cross country team will have two runners competing at the Class A State Meet after their finishes at the Section 3A Meet, held Thursday at the Madison Country Club.

Windom junior Gracie Bucher placed sixth, individually, in the girls race, recording a time of 20:00.69. Senior Patrick Green placed 14th in the boys race, recording a time of 17:56.82.

In the team standings, both Windom's girls and boys teams placed ninth in the section.

The Eagle girls finished with 228 points. Murray County Central-Fulda won the section title with 56 points. Luverne also advanced to state with a runner-up score of 59.

For the boys, Windom finished with 246 points. Lac Qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd ran away with the section title with 30 points. Redwood Valley edged Pipestone for the second state berth, scoring 92 points.

Windom's girls ran with a complete team for the first time all season. In addition to Bucher, the Eagles had a 30th-place finish from Jadyn Wormstadt (21:46). Ella Smith placed 56th (23:06), followed by Arianna Boldt in 72nd (23:47) and Mikalah Konz in 80th (24:06).

Windom's boys were without one of their top runners, as junior Cameron Alm was unable to compete due to injury. Chance Elness placed 49th for the Eagle boys (19:08), followed by Aaden Nauman in 61st (19:27), Hunter Walklin in 64th (19:36) and Eli Bordewyk in 66th (19:38).

MLA
The Mt. Lake Area boys team finished fourth in the team standings with 155 points. The Wolverine girls finished 10th in the standings with 301 points.

MLA's girls were led by Anika Fast, who captured 38th place with a time of 22:05. She was followed by Riley Schroeder in 55th (22:58), Annika Brinkman in 68th (23:34), Lydia Rete in 81st (24:13) and Kate Janzen in 82nd (24:14).

MLA's boys were paced by Kaleb Eickhoff, who captured 16th place with a time of 18:08, missing a state qualifying berth by two spots in the individual standings. Kody Wassman added a 20th-place finish (18:11), followed by Caden Swoboda in 28th (18:24), Cayden LaPointe in 46th (19:01) and Zach Klassen in 50th (19:09).
