Eagles go 0-5 at Burnsville
Class AA Showcase
The Windom Eagle volleyball team had a rough weekend Friday and Saturday, going 0-5 at the Class AA Showcase, held at the Minnesota Volleyball Warehouse in Burnsville.
The Eagles opened the tourney with a 2-1 loss to Park Rapids, fell 2-0 to Kasson-Mantorville, lost 2-0 to Nova Classical Academy, fell 2-0 to Byron and lost a 2-1 decision to Cannon Falls.
Katelyn Nichols led the Eagles with 47 kills and 13 solo blocks for the weekend. Autumn Hauge added 21 kills and four blocks, while Delaney Smith had eight kills and four blocks.
Reegan Elder led Windom from the service line, firing eight aces on 43-of-49 serving. Halle Jackson added three aces on 17-of-23 serving.
Jackson had 55 set assists and Elder added 22 assists. Shelby Erickson finished with a team-high 39 digs.

RRC 25-25-25 = 3
Red Rock Central bombed away from the service line Friday afternoon, firing 14 aces as a team on its way to a 3-0 sweep over Westbrook-Walnut Grove at Lamberton.
The Falcons raced to commanding leads in each set to claim the win.
Carissa Erickson led the Falcons at the service line, going 22-of-22 with seven aces. Lilly Stavnes added three aces on 12-of-14 serving and Nicole Schroepfer had two aces.
Karli Arkell led the Falcons at the net with 15 kills. Schroepfer added nine kills and Kierra Highby added five.
Erickson and Schroepfer each led RRC with 14 set assists. Bianca Weis finished with 36 digs.
Kelsey DeSmith paced WWG from the service line, going 13-of-14 with an ace. Emma Wahl went 8-of-8.
Alli VandeKieft led the Chargers with seven kills. Madison Dennistoun added six kills. Camryn Bunting had two solo blocks.
Halle Steen handed out 19 set assists. Wahl finished with 19 digs.
