Eagles have two top-10 finishers at Worthington
The Windom Eagles had two top-10 runners Thursday at the annual Turkey Trot, held at the former Prairie View Golf Course near Worthington.
Windom's boys team placed sixth with 135 points. Mt. Lake Area finished seventh with 163 points. St. James claimed the boys team title with 44 points.
MLA's girls placed sixth with 170 points while the Windom girls ran without a complete team. Murray County Central finished atop a tight three-team race for the team title with 41 points, edging top-ranked Luverne.
Individually, Windom's girls were led by Gracie Bucher, who earned a sixth-place finish with a time of 20:35. Jadyn Wormstadt placed 36th (23:36), followed by Ella Smith in 40th (24:09) and Mikalah Konz in 47th (24:26).
MLA's girls were led by Riley Schroeder in 29th place (23:05), followed by Anika Fast in 30th (23:07) and Lana Kestner in 32nd (23:18). Kate Janzen placed 50th (24:41) and Shyann Ober placed 65th (26:23).
For the boys, Windom was led by Patrick Green, who captured 10th place with a time of 17:30, followed by Cameron Alm in 14th (17:58). Chance Elness placed 38th (19:22), followed by Jacob Green in 43rd (19:50) and Eli Bordewyk in 50th (20:28).
MLA was led by Kaleb Eickhoff in 18th place (18:19), followed by Caden Swoboda in 27th (18:57). Cayden LaPointe placed 35th (19:15), followed by Ben Bartsch in 46th (20:05) and Mark Quiring in 74th (21:44).
