Eagles sweep past Luverne

Luverne 21-16-21 = 0
Windom 25-25-25 = 3

The Windom Eagles surged late Thursday, claiming a 3-0 victory over Luverne at Windom.

Windom pulled away late in the first set for a 25-21 win, then took control of set two early, claiming a 25-16 win. The Eagles took command late in the third set, closing out the sweep.

Autumn Hauge led the Eagles from the service line, going 25-of-26 with an ace. Halle Jackson was 9-of-10 with an ace and Meadow Espenson was 11-of-11 with an ace.

At the net, Katelyn Nichols blasted a team-high 16 kills and had eight solo blocks. Hauge added 10 kills and seven blocks.

Jackson recorded a team-high 16 set assists. Shelby Erickson led the Eagles with five digs.

MLAC 21-22-21 = 0
RRC 25-25-25 = 3

Red Rock Central capitalized on opportunities to take momentum in each set Thursday night, rallying for a 3-0 sweep over Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey in Lamberton.

MLAC held early leads in each of the three sets, only to see RRC rally to win.

RRC was led at the service line by Nicole Schroepfer, who fired three aces on 12-of-13 serving. Karli Arkell was 16-of-17 with two aces and Bianca Weis was 16-of-18 with two aces.

At the net, Arkell fired a team-high 12 kills. Schroepfer added six kills and Emma Stevenson had five.

Schroepfer and Carissa Erickson each handed out 11 set assists. Weis tallied a team-high 15 digs.

For the Wolverines, senior setter Destiny Sybounheuan finished with 22 set assists, surpassing the 1,000 assist mark for her career. She also went 13-of-13 setting with an ace.

Anna Kirk was 18-of-18 serving with two aces. Margo Stoesz went 8-of-9 with two aces.

Stoesz led the Wolverines with 15 kills. Bileigh Anacker added five kills. Sophie Carrison had a team-high seven digs.

WWG 20-25-25-25 = 3

Westbrook-Walnut Grove shook off a shaky start Thursday, rallying to defeat Hills-Beaver Creek 3-1 at Westbrook.

The Chargers had a strong night at the net and at the service line to claim the win.

Kelly Berglund led WWG from the service line, going 21-of-21. Emma Wahl went 19-of-20 with four aces and Kelsey DeSmith was 12-of-12 with three aces.

DeSmith led WWG with 12 kills. Camryn Bunting added nine kills and three solo blocks.

Wahl had a team-high 34 digs. Halle Steen finished with 26 set assists.
