Lamberton 035 114 = 14-12-0 Windom 000 010 = 1-4-2 Lamberton's offense battered Windom Pirate pitching Tuesday night as the Long Sox claimed a 14-1 victory over the Pirates in non-league action at the Windom Recreation Area.
The game was moved to Windom due to unplayable field conditions in Lamberton.
Lamberton took a 3-0 lead in the second inning, then plated five runs in the top of the third on its way to a 10-0 lead.
In the third, Lamberton scored on a Pirate error, a fielder's choice by Chris Eichten and an Austin Irlbeck sacrifice fly.
Lamberton stretched the lead in the third on a Tyler Reiner RBI single, a bases-clearing triple by Irlbeck and a Will Carson RBI single.
The Long Sox added a run in the fourth when Josh Altermatt reached on a fielder's choice, then added another run in the fifth when Irlbeck scored on a passed ball.
Windom scored its only run in the bottom of the fifth. Kade Sammons led off with a single, went to third on a Kyle Espenson double and scored on a Conner Redman sacrifice fly.
Lamberton tacked on four runs in the sixth inning. Derrick Jenniges hit an RBI single and Irlbeck smashed his second bases-clearing triple of the game.
Irlbeck finished with three extra-bases hits and seven RBI in the game for Lamberton.
Sammons took the pitching loss for the Pirates, allowing three runs on two hits and three walks in two innings of work.
The Pirates play at Pipestone Saturday and at Mt. Lake Sunday.
