Windom 013 002 010 = 7-11-3 Jackson 100 000 007 = 8-11-3 An improbable last-inning rally saw the Jackson Bulls stun the Windom Pirates 8-7 Wednesday in Jackson.
Windom held a 7-1 lead going into the bottom of the ninth, but the Bulls scored seven runs, sending nine hitters to the plate without the Pirates recording an out in the final frame.
Windom tied the game at 1-1 on a Noah Kloss RBI single in the second inning. The Pirates then built a lead on a Kloss RBI double and back-to-back bases-loaded hit-by-pitches by Jacob Johnson and Joel Riordan in the third inning.
In the sixth, Danny Kneeland hit an RBI double and scored on a Luke Gilbertson RBI single for a 6-1 lead. Windom's last run scored on a wild pitch in the eighth.
In the bottom of the ninth, Jackson strung together five hits, a walk and an error before ending the game on an infield chopper where the baserunner beat the throw home.
Kloss led the Pirates with three hits. Kneeland and Gilbertson added two hits each.
Gilbertson was tagged with the loss, allowing six runs on five hits in one-plus innings of relief. He walked three and struck out two.
