TMB 320 200 0 = 7-8-0 Windom 050 121 x = 9-7-1 The Windom Eagle baseball team rallied from an early deficit Friday afternoon, recording a 9-7 victory over Tracy-Milroy-Balaton at the Windom Recreation Area.
TMB plated five runs in the first two innings, but the Eagles rallied, tying the game at 5-5 in the bottom of the second. Andrew Quiring, Coner Redman and Kobe Lovell drew consecutive bases-loaded walks, Kyle Espenson hit an RBI sacrifice fly and a run scored on a wild pitch.
TMB regained the lead with a two-run fourth, but Windom battled back. Espenson's RBI double in the bottom of the fourth cut the deficit to 7-6. Then, in the fifth, Hunter Walklin drew a walk and later scored on a wild pitch and Conner Redman gave the Eagles the lead with an RBI single.
Windom's final run scored on a fielder's choice by Austin Doorenbos in the bottom of the sixth.
Eric Pfeffer led the Eagles with three hits.
Lovell earned the pitching win, working four innings of shutout relief. He allowed three hits and struck out seven.
RRC/WWG 001 000 0 = 1-3-0 SE 101 031 x = 6-5-3 Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove couldn't capitalize on scoring chances early, taking a 6-1 loss Friday at Sleepy Eye Public.
The Falcons left runners on base in four of the first six innings, including stranding three runners in scoring position.
The lone Falcon run came in the third inning. Mason Irlbeck led off with a double, advanced on a sacrifice bunt and scored on an Austin Irlbeck groundout.
Sleepy Eye took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third, then tacked on three runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to seal the win.
Mason Irlbeck, Blaine Van Meveren and Noah Pankonin had the lone Falcon hits.
Mason Irlbeck took the pitching loss, allowing two runs on two hits and three walks in three innings. He struck out three.
