Windom Area 0-0-0 = 0 New Ulm 1-5-1 = 7 Playing its third game in three days, the Windom Area girls hockey team couldn't get any offense going Saturday afternoon, taking a 7-0 loss at New Ulm.
New Ulm outshot the Eagles 38-7 in the contest, as two New Ulm players each scored a pair of goals.
Goalie Bethany Schmidt finished with 31 saves in the loss for the Eagles.
Windom Area 0-2-2 = 4 MN River 1-1-5 = 7 The Windom Area girls hockey team ran out of gas in the third period Friday night as Minnesota River rallied for a 7-4 victory in LeSueur.
The Eagles tied the game at 2-2 after two periods and tied the game at 3-3 early in the third. But the Bulldogs scored four straight goals in a three-minute span, pulling away for the win.
Trailing 1-0 in the second, the Eagles got on the board when Madelyn Schumacher scored her first career goal, assisted by Anna Volk. After the Bulldogs regained the lead, the Eagles tied it up when Katrina LaCanne redirected a shot by Ellyson Bang into the net.
Early in the third, the Bulldogs regained the lead on a power play goal, but the Eagles tied it up less than a minute later on a goal by Abagail Turner, assisted by Miranda Cory.
But Minnesota River answered 39 seconds later, then netted three more goals in the next three minutes to take a 7-3 lead.
The Eagles scored the game's final goal when Turner netted an unassisted goal.
Minnesota River outshot the Eagles 34-23 in the contest. Goalie Kaylie Baerg finished with 27 saves.
