Cobras go 2-0 at triangular The Windom-Mt. Lake wrestling team picked up a pair of dominant, forfeit-filled victories Tuesday in a triangular at Madelia.
WML opened the night with a 64-8 win over LeSueur-Henderson, then defeated Madelia-Truman-Martin Luther 64-4.
Against LSH, the Cobras started with a quick 13-0 lead. Tucker Renquist (106) recorded a fall, followed by a decision win from Caden Swoboda (113) and a major decision by Bobby Saengosoth (120). Brett Willaby (132) won by decision, followed by a fall from Kade Sammons (138). Esteban Sandoval (152) added a pin. The Cobras won the final six weights by forfeit.
Against MTML, the Cobras started with a fall from Tucker Renquist (106), then added a forfeit win. After a double forfeit at 120, Micah Holmberg won by fall (126). Sammons (132) won by major decision and Trenton Renquist (138) won by fall. Sandoval (152) added a fall for the Cobras' final contested victory. WML won five of the last six weight classes by forfeit.
