HBC 39-20 = 59 MLAC 19-29 = 48 Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey fell behind early and never fully recovered Tuesday night, falling 59-48 to Hills-Beaver Creek at Mt. Lake.
Both teams entered the game undefeated in Red Rock Conference play, but it was HBC that got off to a fast start, building a 20-point halftime lead.
The Wolverines battled back early in the second half, cutting the deficit to nine. But the Patriots were able to stem the tide and hold off a further Wolverine rally.
Margo Stoesz led MLAC with 17 points. Taylor Naas added 14 points in the loss.
Ellsworth 15-06 = 21 RRC 29-33 = 62 Red Rock Central's defense suffocated Ellsworth Tuesday night, allowing the Falcons to roll to a 62-21 victory at Lamberton.
The Falcons led by 14 at halftime, then held the Panthers to two made baskets in the second half, as RRC outscored Ellsworth 33-6 in the second half.
Haley Simonson led RRC with 12 points. Stephanie Amsden added 11 points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds in the win.
MCC 48-32 = 80 WWG 25-18 = 43 Murray County Central turned defense into offense Tuesday night, racing to a big lead early and cruising to an 80-43 win over Westbrook-Walnut Grove at Westbrook.
MCC forced 27 Charger turnovers, which allowed the Rebels to build a 23-point halftime lead. WWG was unable to mount a comeback despite shooting well from the field.
Camryn Bunting led WWG with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Brittany Erickson added 12 points in the loss.
