Cobras go 2-0 at triangular The Windom-Mt. Lake wrestling team opened the second half of the season with a pair of victories at a triangular held in New Richland.
The Cobras opened the night with a 41-21 win over New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva, then claimed a 51-19 win over Adrian.
Against NRHEG, the Cobras raced to a 32-3 lead. Tucker Renquist (106) recorded an overtime decision win. Hunter Ekstrom (120) added a decision win. The Cobras added a forfeit win at 126.
At 132, junior Brett Willaby recorded a fall for the 100th victory of his career. Then, at 138, sophomore Kade Sammons recorded a technical fall for the 75th victory of his career. Trenton Renquist followed with a major decision at 145 and Zach Spinks won a technical fall at 152.
Alex Borsgard added a decision win at 170 and Jesse Jepsen won by fall at 195.
Against Adrian, Ekstrom (120) got the Cobras on the board with a fall. Willaby (132), Renquist (138), Sammons (145) and Spinks (152) followed with pins. Esteban Sandoval (160) added a decision and Borsgard (170) earned a fall. Jepsen (195) and Keith Swenson (220) added falls.
