Fairmont 31-32 = 63 Windom 25-30 = 55 The Windom girls basketball team battled from behind to tie the game against Fairmont late, but the Cardinals pulled away in the closing minutes to claim a 63-55 victory over the Eagles Tuesday at Windom.
Fairmont started hot from the field, leading by six at halftime. But the Eagles battled back in the second half, drawing even with the Cardinals at 43-43.
But late in the game, Fairmont knocked down a pair of key three-pointers and closed the game 10-of-18 from the line to seal the win.
Autumn Hauge led the Eagles with 15 points. Delaney Smith added 14 points and Kaitlee Huska scored nine.
HLOF 25-19 = 44 MLAC 39-33 = 72 The Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey girls basketball team picked up its first victory as a pairing Tuesday night, racing to a comfortable lead at halftime and claiming a 72-44 win over Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda at Mt. Lake.
The Wolverines led by seven points early, but used strong defense and hot shooting to stretch the lead to 14 by halftime.
In the second half, the Wolverine defense held the Coyotes to 19 points, sealing the win.
Margo Stoesz led the Wolverines with 22 points. Lexi Toll added 18 points and Rylie Tollefson scored 10.
