Member-Guest Tournament postponed; Island Park also closed

The rising Des Moines River has prompted the decision to postpone this weekend's Toro Member-Guest Tournament at the Windom Country Club.

Overnight, the river level rose to 22.41 feet, as of 8 a.m. Friday. That has caused significant flooding to the golf course. Hole 6, part of Hole 8 and portions of Hole 1 and 2 are completely submerged.

In addition, crews from the Windom Street Department were out this morning, barricading the entrance to Island Park. The entire baseball facility, softball complex and most of the parking lot between the baseball field and the swimming pool are underwater.
