Eagle golfers split with Huskies

Eagles, Huskies split
Soggy conditions at the Windom Country Club didn't stop the action Monday as the Windom Eagle golf team held its first home meet of the season.

The Eagle girls came away with an impressive 192-213 win over Jackson County Central, while the JCC boys rolled past the Eagles 157-188.

Windom's girls were paced by meet medalist Paige Pigman, who fired four pars on her way to a 43. Lily Mellstrom was the meet runner-up, shooting a 49. Mellstrom also had the shot of the day, missing an ace on Hole 7 by less than two feet.

Allie Ward and Sophia Nelson each added 50s for the Eagle girls.

Windom's boys had a tougher time on the home course, as JCC's highest score for the day was a 43.

Tylan Porath led the way for the Eagles, firing a 40. Parker Alvstad shot a season-best 43, followed by Jackson Roll with a 51 and Nick Nolt with a 54.
