Eagle girls fourth, boys fifth at BSC cross country meet

Big South Conference
The Windom Eagle girls finished fourth and the boys fifth in the small school division standings at the Big South Conference Meet, held Tuesday at St. Peter.

The Eagle girls scored 115 points. Luverne won the team title with 27 points.

Windom's boys finished with 122 points. St. James Area won the team title with 19 points.

Individually for the Eagle girls, freshman Gracie Bucher earned honorable mention all-conference honors, finishing ninth overall with a time of 21:48. Eliana Tade placed 19th (23:10), followed by Jordyn Alm in 20th (23:24), Jadyn Wormstadt in 24th (23:49) and Shiro Ogeka in 43rd (29:32).

No Windom boys earned all-conference or honorable mention. Sophomore Patrick Green led the Eagles, finishing 18th with a time of 18:33. Cameron Alm was 21st (18:52), followed by Daniel Pastrnak in 24th (19:09), Gil Parent in 26th (19:14) and Daniel Green in 33rd (19:40).

Red Rock Conference
The Mt. Lake Area boys ruled the home course Monday, capturing the Red Rock Conference title at the Mt. Lake Golf Club.

MLA finished with 26 team points. MCC was second with 29.

For the girls, MCC won the league title with 37 points, edging Southwest Christian-Edgerton's 41. MLA finished fifth with 115 points.

Nathan Runck continued his stellar season, winning the conference title with a time of 16:57. Teammate Dalton Piotter was second, finishing in 17:14. Ryan Blomgren placed fifth (17:52) and Emilio Garcia de la Cruz was 10th (18:36). Each earned all-conference honors with a top-10 finish.

Finishing just out of the all-conference spots was Josiah Gardiner, who placed 12th (19:06).

For the MLA girls, Anika Fast led the way, placing 16th with a time of 23:15. She was followed by Mercedes Saengosoth in 21st (24:06). The Wolverines then had a pack, with Kate Janzen 25th (24:36), Riley Schroeder 27th (24:40), Olivia Klassen 28th (24:44) and Tiegan Meyer 29th (24:53).
