12/1/2020 7:27:00 AM Windom City Council to consider HyLife modular housing plan tonight
At tonight's Windom City Council meeting, the council is expected to consider a conditional use permit for a HyLife Foods temporary housing site.
The plan is to add 33 temporary modular homes to hold 190 workers at North Windom Industrial Park. The city planning commission recently opposed this use of NWIP.
The three-year site lease creates a bridge while city and HyLife officials work to add suitable apartment-style living. HyLife officials have stressed the company's reputation is on the line and that it plans to use an on-site manager and other means to assure there are no problems with the site.
