Custodial staff named Windom Friends of Education
While everyone has been affected in some way by the coronavirus pandemic of 2020, school custodial staffs are certainly among them. Indeed, their day-to-day duties have been compounded by additional cleaning and safety procedures to ensure students' safety.
But their work goes far beyond that, especially in 2020. They also had the summer move from Winfair to Windom Area Elementary thrown on their backs, and they are currently moving furniture from the Winfair building to the Highland building where fourth grade will be housed until further notice.
All that work hasn't gone unnoticed.
On Friday, Education Minnesota-Windom announced the Windom Area Schools' custodial staff was named its 2020-21 Friends of Education.
Members of the custodial staff include: WAS Building and Grounds Superintendent Doug Holtz, Greg Moller, Greg Capesius, Dustin Eigenberg, Tucker Kern, Jeremy Johnson, Steve Bakken, Gary Korthouse, Jim Smedsrud, Aaron Walklin, Will Riley, Jason Keir, Randy Olson, Scott Harrington, Chris Zimmerman, Andrew Ertz, Matt Onken and Carla Moret.
