10/28/2020 4:30:00 PM Historical marker added to Pat's Grove
If you happen to take a drive to Pat's Grove County Park west of Windom, be sure to check out the stone house that's near the clearing. You'll find something new there.
A historical marker, which tells the story of the house and the 80-acre county park, has been installed next to the east opening of the stone house.
The marker, installed several weeks ago, is the brainchild of Leann Johnson, who has been a lifelong supporter of the park. She also was instrumental in seeing the stone house tuck-pointed and its roof rebuilt last summer.
"I decided to do a history marker because I have found out that this history of Pat's Grove is so interesting," Johnson said. "I wanted to share the story of the inception-to-present day facts of Pat's Grove for everyone else to discover and enjoy."
For more on the marker, see the story on the Faith & Family page in the Oct. 28 edition of the Cottonwood County Citizen on newsstands today.
