10/28/2020 7:53:00 AM Planning commission votes to deny conditional use permit for dorm project
By a 5-2 vote, the Windom Planning Commission sent a recommendation to deny a conditional use permit for the HyLife dorm project. The Windom City Council will now take the commission's recommendation and make a final decision on whether to approve the permit.
The project calls for 33 five-bedroom, or six-bedroom units on a temporary site in North Windom Industrial Park. HyLife would house just over 190 employees there and the property would be leased for three years, while city and HyLife officials work to add permanent housing to the community.
